Government's Sport Survival Package (SSP) Spending Report
The Board agreed that a detailed account from Racing on the effectiveness and purpose of the expenditure associated with the Government's £21.5m loan should be held on record.
Weighing Room Loans
The Board noted that, since its previous meeting, good progress had been made on developing the principles that would apply to making available sums to racecourses for weighing room upgrades, and agreed to continue to monitor and consider these developments at future meetings.
Levy Forecast 2022/23
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to contribute £66m to prize money in 2023. However, in agreeing this figure, the Board noted that data provided by major bookmakers had shown a fall in horserace betting turnover and gross win in recent months. In light of this, the Board agreed that a decision on the amount to be provided for the period from September to December 2023 would be taken around May 2023 in the light of the outturn of Levy yield for the year ending 31 March 2023. It was further agreed to issue a press release detailing the reasoning behind this.
Capital Credit Application
The Board agreed a Capital Credit Application for York Racecourse.
