Retraining and rehoming of ex-racehorses for other careers will enjoy increased support from the Horserace Betting Levy Board this year. In its eighth successive year of increasing its support for the BHA charity, Retraining of Racehorses (RoR), the Board's donation for 2007/08 will be £58,000, up 3.6% on the previous year.
The donation will assist RoR's central activities and the rehabilitation, retraining and rehoming of retired racehorses at the several specialist facilities that RoR supports.
Levy Board Chairman, Robert Hughes, said "RoR continues to ensure that the retraining of retired racehorses for productive future lives is given top priority. The expertise and commitment of the specialist centres are impressive and we are pleased to contribute again to their efforts and activities through RoR".
