2015 Fixture Criteria
The Board discussed items relating to the 2015 Fixture Criteria. Approval of the main principles of the Criteria will be sought at a meeting later in the year following additional work between the HBLB Executive and the Fixture List Consultation Group (FLCG, previously known as the Fixture Review Group).
Capital Credit Request: Leicester
The Board approved a Capital Credit Grant to Leicester Racecourse of £7,000 towards increasing the hospitality area for owners and trainers.
Veterinary Advisory Committee
The Board approved the appointment of the Veterinary Advisory Committee’s (VAC) Deputy Chair, Professor Celia Marr, as Chairman of the VAC for a term of two years with effect from 1 January 2015. Professor Marr also chairs the Thoroughbred Research and Consultation Group (which acts primarily as the formal liaison forum for the VAC and Racing industry stakeholders to review and establish research priorities to apply to the annual grant application round), and is a member of the Education Sub Committee (which is responsible for reviewing annual scholarship applications and making recommendations to the VAC for funding). The current Chair of the VAC, Professor Willie Donachie, is due to retire from the post at the end of 2014.
